I have been following the KU Basketball
season with more than the usual amount of
interest this year, and have been on the verge
of giving the local sports writers a blast for
failing to devote any space -- other than the
bare mention of scores ~~ to teams in the midwest,
where they really play the game.

Congratulations on q very successful season,
Phog, and best of luck in the Feb. 28 tilt.

This may be jumping the gun a bit, but I
am thinking in terms of the national tournament,
even at this early date, so you can bet i'll be

following the fortunes of your charges to the end.

My Dad wrote that you'd lost the services

of one of your stars recently, but if so, it wasn't
apparent in the 70-32 rout of Nebraska the other
day.
