Maroh 9, 1944. Principal Frank 3, Toalson, Dodge City Senior High School, Dedge City, Kansas. Dear Principal Toalson: Are you plamning on building concrete tarvia or some other type of court? We have some specifications for re- inforsed concrete but have no other kind. Frankly, I would not know what to prescribe for courts in your section of the state, unless I would suggest the reinforced gonerete. They, of course, are alleweather courts and in the warmer climates they are lighting them electrically for play in the evening. In that way you can get full service from them and the maintenanse and upkeep is megligible. Of course, the initial expense is great but it is the proposition that we encounter when we con- sider highways -- conerete or sanded reads. Eventually the sanded roads eat up all the profit and you still have nothing but a sanded road. Sincersly yours, Direotor of *hysical Education, PCA:AH Varsity Basketball Coach.
