Sept. 16, 1941 Mr. George Trombeld Personnel Director Boeing Airplane Co. Wichita, Kansas Dear George, I just met Ray A. Williams who mentioned the fact that he has applied to you for a position with Boeing. I have known Ray for eleven years during which time he wrked in the business office of the University. His position during that time has been as bookkeoper and inventory clerk. In all those years I have found Ray a pleasant fellow who is always willing to cooperate and a man who is interested in going out of his way to help others. To my knowledge Ray has always paid his bills very promptly and in my opinion is e very fine citizen in this community. He owns his own home here in Lawrence and is the father of a boy anda girl. It has always been my impression that a man who owns his own home and raises @ family is a very substantial citizen. For that reason I would be gratified if you could find a place for this deserving young Man. I assure you it was a greet pleasure to heve you visit with me, end I am locking forward to the time in the future when I shall run out and heve lunch with you and your very amiable bo§s, Mr. Schaeffer. With all good wishes for your continued success and happiness I em : Sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education and Recreation PCA/pe Varsity Basketball Coach
