BOEING AIRPLANE GOoMPANY WICHITA Dt Vt Sst ON WicHara, KANSAS In Reply Refer to GT: VM 4—30-42 Dr. Pi te Ae Director of Athletics The University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: It seems that I always write to you when I have a prob- lem. The present one concerns the right arm of one of our prospective ball players, Joe Gulledge, by name. Joe hurt his arm several years ago and, I believe, partial- ly through improper care on the part of certain trainers, now has a condition which apparently needs some really expert care. Joe is one of several young ball players in our employ who have left professional baseball with the thought of starting to work to build themselves | a future in aircraft. I hesitate to write you concerning this case, because I know the demands on your time, but I thought if it were possible, it would be very much appreciated if an op- portunity could be secured for you to look at Joe's arm. It appears to be a quite unusual injury in that it is behind the shoulder joint (I am trying to think of the neme of the muscles, but I am afraid my Anatomy has slipped away from me). Any suggestions which you may have as a possibility of upline us wh this problem will be very much appreciated. Please give my regards to the folks at the gym. Best personal regards,
