FF. GL: Abies, Head, Department of Physical Education, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear Mr. Allen: Yesterday a copy of the program for the conference of public pools, which is being held at Lawrence, Kansas on April 21 and 22, came into my possession. I was very much interested in this program because for almost a year now I have been formulating a somewhat similar conference to be held at the University of Illinois on June 6 and 7. Our program, like yours, is a combined effort under the auspices of School of Physical Education and State Department of Public Health, Division of Sanitary Engineering. ' It is my belief that»your experiences in the conduct of your conference might be of great value to us and perhaps when we hold ours we will have some problems and points come up that will be of value to you. It is. my hope, therefore, that I can persuade you to forward me a brief of the results obtained from your conference and perhaps a discussion of some of the problems that you incurred in the running of it. In exchange for this I can offer you the same sort of thing upon the termination of our ow meeting. I would appreciate very much hearing from you in respect to this matter. Sincerely yours, Kw Crary E. . Crate, Supervisor of Swimming. Allen Dept. of Physical Education Campus Dear Dr. Allen: I am enclosing a copy of the preliminary announcement that is being made with regard to the Conference on Public Swimming Pools to be held April 21 and 22. After talking with Mr. MacDonald, park commissioner of Wichita, and with Professor Treece, it seemed desirable to plan to have part of the conference on Saturday morning, so since. talking to you, we have added the — Before formulating the program, we should ‘at the detailed program of the relays in order that we may plan our program in such a way as not to interfere with relay activities. We would appreciate it very much if you would give some thought to a speaker to present the recreational program part of the conference, I believe that Mr. Hunt, coach from Newton, Kansas, who is now studying at the University of Iowa, plans to be here, and I believe we can count on him for some assistance, Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated, 2 Very EB:ME est Boyce Enc, Engineer and Director
