Dear Dr, Allen:

I have just had a notice from Raymond Nichols, Executive
Secretary to the Chancellor, regarding action taken at a meeting
of the budget committee on February 21. The following is taken
from the minutes of the meeting:

"On the request of Dr. Allen for an allowance to

add course 39, Elementary School Playground
Activities, to the Summer Session program with Mrs.
Josephine Sams as instructor, it was agreed that the
course be announced on a contingent basis, to be
offered only if ten or more students actually enroll;
the salary to be in line with the University scale

if the enrollment materializes."

I am sending you this notice because Dean Schwegler is
out of town and will not be back before the last of next week.

When you have a little time, I should be glad to discuss
with you some methods of getting out information in regard to this
course. Our catalogues are already printed and mailed.
