THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES LAWRENCE OFFICE OF THE DEAN March 4, 1938 To Members of the University Staff: The undersigned, in spite of the recent criticisms of the organi- zation, feel that the Y.M.C.A. performs a very valuable function on this campus, as shown by the information on the enclosed sheet. . We are sure it is an organization which, if successfully continued, has in it possibilities for much good to the life of the campus; and it therefore has our hearty support. The recent criticisms have resulted in increased difficulty in obtaining off-campus support for this work, It becomes necessary, therefore, for those of us within the University to do all we can to help in this difficult time, Last year the Faculty contributed over $600. So far this year we have not solicited the Faculty, but already some half dozen members have contributed $100, We are now asking the entire Faculty to make as generous a contribution as possible, as much of it as possible in cash, and the rest in pledges to be paid by Commencement. Will you please make your pledge on the enclosed card? If possible, attach your check and send it to Mr. Harold Ingham, Treasurer, Fraser Hall, We are sure that your response will be generous and that your investment will be worthwhile, Signed by: Allen Crafton Fred J, ‘Moreau Raymond H, -Wheeler Paul B, Lawson
