Dear Prank:

I received your letter of July 27 and was pleased indeed

to heax from youe I em sending you a Jayhawk Rebounds and am putting
you on the permanent mailing list. Those are written on an average Ce.

about once a month.

I, too, am sorry I did not imow that you were so close at

hand. Had I kmown your address I would have stopped by and seen the

family. Your Aumt Bess was so anxious to go to Independence that
evening that I called off a few appointments and made the trip. I was
not sorry because both of us had a very good time. I don't believe I
ever saw her enjoy an evening more with her old friends.

Congratulations on your call to the Navy. I am very sure
that you will be happy your whole life in doing what you have done.
You were a very brave young man to leave a family your size and make
the move that you have.

I am happy, too, to know of the good fortune of Euclid,
Homer, Jr., and Richard. ‘They certainly are doing mighty well, and I

am very happy for them. I was happy to hear from Lois and the boys,
and am wishing you and yours every good fortime.
