Dear Doctor Allen:

You started our 1943 Community and National War Fund Drive
with a lot of fire and you wound up with a record-breaking contribu-
tion from KU. Nice Going would be a modest and reserved way of ex-
pressing your accomplishments.

The fine teamwork you developed through the Y.W.C.A., I
believe, will have a decided double value, The money obtained and
equally important the benefits it should give to next year's campaign.
Attached is an advanced report of this year's drive. I have a suspi-
cion that the Hercules estim ted figure is conservative.

You know me well enough to know that I appreciate the sup-
port you gave me as well as the very excellent job. Most important,
I believe we all wanted to let the 1800 Douglas County boys know that
we folks, back home, are interested in them to the extent that we
will get the home front job done as it should be.
