Comutisuumalde Pouitante Theatre Corporation . JAYHAWKER * GRANADA : VARSITY * PATEE LAWRENCE, KANSAS September 21, 1943 Dr. "“Phog™ Allen 801 Louisiana St. Lawrence, Kansas Dear "Doc": At a recent Rotary meeting you suggested that I give you a report of my activity on this present bond drive, ‘Our corporation made a bond purchase of $5,000. My ine dividual purchase was $500. Every employee in our or- ganization increased his payroll deduction 10% making a total of 20%. ,Fifteen employees are putting their en- tire Septemodtrtiito bonds and thirty-five other employees are purchasing a bond in addition to their 20%. If every business would do as much the Douglas County quota would be a cinch. Harry Wareham, State Chairman of the Motion Picture Indus- try, has informed me that our entire campaign on our Bond Premiere has topped anything in the state to-date and there has been some forty key cities that have submitted material to him. This gives me some degree of satisfaction since I worked night and day to get the job done, Incidentally, I spent $187.45 in good hard money on all types of advertising to put over the Premiere for the C8USe. Kindest personal regards, Sincerely, bir Stan Schwehn SS :MH MANAGED BY LAWRENCE CITIZENS FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT OF THE CITIZENS OF LAWRENCE
