Stroud , Oklahoma December £4,1942 Mr. Forrest Allen , Basket-—ball Coach , University of Kansas , Lawrence , Kansas , Dear Sir: IT put in some spare time as assistant scoutmaster and coaching a boy's basket—ball team in the grade school here. I have two boys whom I believe will make real. plavers . Mv own son , Don , is 13 , six feet tall and weighs 150 pounds , plays quite a bit of running guard . The other boy , J.T.Poskey is 14 , about 5foot, 10 inches tall an is extremely cuick in starting an fast getting down the court. He is a natural plaver but has a serious handicap . He is near sighted and has to wear glasses to eorrect his vision . A couple of years ago I was in Lawrence and as an old K.U. student I went to see your Jayhawks beat Denver U . I noted the fact that three of your boys wore shatterproof glasses taped to their heads during the game . I wonder if you would beko an old pair of unbreakable glasses sor near siehtedness which you would send me rr the Poskey boy . [I assure you it would be a @od send for the boy as he is a splendid athlete and determined to play whether he can see good or not . There are about six children in the familv so that his father has plenty of expense . Sincerely AG L.A.Wise 207 West Sixth St. Stroud , Okla.
