GUY W. COX, President Life Insurance Company HOME OFFICE BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS HARRY H. WELSH, Jr., General Agent Suite 814 Commerce Trust Building August ZT 9 1942 922 Walnut Street Telephone Harrison 0735 KANSAS CITY, MO. Dr. Forrest ©, Allen Director of Physical Education Varsity Basketball Coach University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: I appreciate very much your letter of August 26th and the letter to Coach Edwards. There are somethings I cannot figure out myself, Doc. Coach cannot understand how you changed your mind in allowing Missouri to participate in the double header. He seems to think some pressure was brought on you. I told him about our conversation and that I found you very fair, fine and easy to deal with and I did not know of any outside pressure that would change your mind. I have always found that a heart to heart talk to any one on any matter was the best way to get things done. I assure you that I have enjoyed my dealings with you and found you to be fair in every respect and only hope we will have more pleasant meetings. I see where you have Ballard, Black and Evans lined up to complete their college education. I think that is fine as they are three great boys. Although I am afraid they will cause a little misery to the rest of the big six conference. The next time you are in Kanses City please drop in and say hello. With my very best wishes, I remain Sincdrely yours, General Agent HHW: RW
