Dear Dr, Allen:

May I take this opportunity to congratu-
late you upon the splendid showing of our
basketball team, —

Undoubtedly this team will go down in
history as one of the greatest teams you have

ever produced for Kansas--and to say that for
a basketball team REALLY MEANS SOMETHING,

I am so sorry to see you losing such fine
lads as Ray Evans, Schnellbacher, end others
who have been so valuable to yourteam, I
believe I am in a position to appreciate the
seriousness of such losses from an organization
such as your better than any other man on the
campus since I have suffered terrific losses
from the ranks of my concert band during the
last three months.
