Twelve credits in history, geography, and the social studies as follows: six credits in a year course in European or American history, and six credits made up of three in political science (Pol. Sci, 7) and three in economics, sociology} or geography (exclusive of Geography 1, 2, and 140) (12 credits). 2, Six credits in introductory philosophy (Phil. 21) and logic (Phil. 11), or 8 in mathematics, or the completion of either Mathematics 2 or 5. 3. ta) Ten credits in the literature of a foreign language; or (o) The passing of a proficiency test in one language; or ‘c} Intermediate knowledge of two foreign languages. MINOR Il PHYSICAL EDUCATION Tuis minor is offered to qualify men to assist in the general physical educa- tion program, and to coach and supervise athletics in high schools and colleges in connection with the teaching of some academic subject; it may be elected by men students majoring in academic fields in the School of Education. Practice work, without academic credit, may be arranged at the discretion of the department, according to the student's needs, The completion of this minor does not entitle one to a special physical education teaching license in Wisconsin.
