Rexford, Kansas May 17, 1940 Dear Dr. Allen: I am ashamed for not having written you sooner, but I have been pretty busy. I hope that you are getting along O. K. I am still planning to come to school. I hag about given it up for a while but it is raining outside now. The wheat is looking pretty good now. I hope it goes ahead and makes s something. You had tough luck in the finals at K.C. I was pulling for you every inck of the way put it didn't help much. Ind. must have had quite a ball team. It sure sounded like it over the radio. I see by the paper that you got some of your new rules put into effect. Congradulations} I think they are 0.K. (as if it would make any difference) I really think that basketball can be made the best and most popular sport there is. I know that it is my favorite sport. Well I must close now and get to bed for I have to work tomorrow. I am still working on the ranch and we work rain or Ga rein. Hoping to see you this fall. Sincerely yours
