Aiken 801 Louisiana Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allens: After talking to Harry Welsh today I still don't have any definite information for you in regard to Missouri's attitude on the playoff. I do know tnat M. U. was definitely planning to enter the N. C. A. A. tournament had they won the Big Six out- right. Harry tells me that Coach Edwards sent his players home after Friday's.game and would not allow them to spend the weekend in Kansas City. He also © says that Edwards intended to hold practice this week which seems to indicate a desire on Edwards part to particpate in a playoff if a three way tie developed. Harry wrote Edwards today and should hear from him by Wednesday; and if he gets any worthwhile information I will let you know. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you but apparently no one knows about this for sure. I want to express my thanks again to youiand drs. It must have been exciting. Now beat Oklahoma and again carry off Big Six honors. I expected to be back last fall, but met with a serious automobile accident Oct. 1st from which I have not as yet recovered altho I am improving slowly. In riding to Los Angétles with some friends the driver ran into some slippery pavement and turned the car over. Il was in rear seat with another party and my injuries included a broken hip, both shoulders and eight ribs also broken, so you may see I have had a battle. I hope to be able to start trying to walk again some time next month. The thing for which I am the most grateful is the fact that Mrs. Wolf was not along. She joins me in kindest regards and best wishes to you and Mrs. Allen. Sincerely, Osear D. Wolf, 3290 Sixth Ave., San Diego, Calif. We will be pulling for you next Friday night. Dear "Fog": Your letter concerning inquiry to faculty members in regard to scholastic work of fresh- man basket ball players at hand and contents noted. It would seem to me such an approach should help obtain the cooperation of faculty members and give you a better opportunity to put pressure on the boys for better work where needed. Some time when I see you, I shallibe pleased to ascertain whether you obtained the cooperation of faculty members by this method. You know, of course, that there will be some people at the radio in the Wedell home tonight when you meet Oklahoma at Wichita. This letter will reach you after the affair is all over. Permit me to congratulate you upon a fine season. At your early convenience I would like to have an opportunity to visit with you for a few minutes concerning a matter ich may bec importance to you.
