Dear Sir:- The Sacramento Junior Chamber of Commerce in its efforts to promote collegiate basketball in the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium has encountered several problems; among them, that of providing a suitable playing surface without damage to the auditorium floor. May we solicit the benefit of your experience in the solution of this problem? Are your basketball games played directly upon the permanent gymnasium floor or do you employ a false floor of some kind? If the former, what agent do you use to guarantee a slideproof surface and what is the cost of preparing the floor for a game and restoring it to its original condition after the game? If your games are played upon a false floor, what type do you use? Is it satisfactory to coaches and players? Does it offer adequate protection to the permanent floor? What was the original cost and what is the upkeep cost? How many hours does it require to install and remove? Finally, would you please suggest some commercial firms from whom we may gather further suggestions. Please accept our sincere thanks for any service you may find it convenient to render us.
