My dear Dr. Allen:

The above named person has made application to the American
Red Cross for the position of Recreation Worker in our Military and
Naval Welfare Service. She has given us your name as a reference. We
would appreciate any information that you might be able to give us
concerning her qualifications for this position. In order that you
might know something about the qualifications desired of applicants,
as well as the duties involved in the position, we are attaching
ARC 825 which gives some of this information very briefly. In addi-
tion to relating your knowledge of her qualifications to the duties
involved, we should like to have you give us your opinion concerning
her ability to cooperate with others on a job which is done under a
great deal of pressure and her ability to take the initiative in making
plans for doing a recreation job.

We should like to have your reply to this inquiry at your
early convenience. Thank you very much for your assistance in this

matter.
