The equivalent to a complete college course may be two years of academic training and three years of work in recreation or allied fields (such as those mentioned above). At least one full year of recreation experience (hospital, institution, community center, industry, playground, camp), half of which has been spent in the aotunl con- duct of activities; some experience in communi ty organization and supervision of other workers; must have skill in at least two. of the above- listed duties and an acquaint- ance and appreciation of others. QUALIFICATIONS: A friendly personality; a sense of humor; tact; a gracious manner; we 11-modulated voice; well-groomed appearance. Physical stamina; emotional maturity; resourceful- ness, initiative, and patience in the face of hospital routine, facilities, and condi- tion of patient; sensitivity to the needs of individuals and the moods of the group; capacity to like and be liked; ability to work as a member of a team, and willingness to accept an irregular schedule of hours. A friendly yet impersonal attitude toward men patients; racial and religious understanding; a recognition of and compliance with sectional customs; recognition of and adherence to military etiquette and regulations.
