Dear Dr. Allen:

Mrs. Barr and I appreciate very much your proposal to
arrange a Saturday play period for faculty children. We have found
that living here on the hill, it is especially difficult to keep our
children in acitivities on Saturday. We are in a neighborhood almost
devoid of children.

We have two children: f
Marilyn, age 9;

Margaret, age 7. my

If you are able to arrange a time for children as
young as ours, we will certainly have them on hand.

 

P.S. I would like to say what I have thought often: I appreciate what
you are doing for the University and the wholesome influence you have

on all the people with whom you make contact. I admired your work before
we came to Lawrence, but now that we are here, I admire you even moxe
personally.
