Dear Chancellor Malott:

On the third instant a reflector (value about
_ of an electric light fixture in the drill hall,
Military Science Building,was broken by Private Paul A.
Henderson an ASTP trainee.

Private Henderson was swinging on a rope which
was suspended from the ceiling. The rope had been placed
there for training purposes by the Physical Education
Department and apparently too near the light.

This matter is submitted for consideration as
to whether or not you desire continuance of rope climbing
or other Physical Education features in the drill hall
which are certain to result in further depredations.
