TO DEPARTMENT HEADS:

The payroll procedures recently established by the
Civil Service office make it necessary that the University
adopt a standard wage scale for student help. This will
be done at the earliest possible date, following study of
current rates, but in the meantime a scale of 30 to 40
cents an hour will be in effect, graduated according to
type of work, skill, and lengtl of service. In a Case
where this scale is in conflict with current practice or
commitment, petition for exception can be made to
Mr. Ni cho ls.
