THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS LAWRENCE OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR Ce April ky 1942 ce pti & a Sikay ‘ es a i, cB PT eB, aN Rhee v4 of Ae EARP, ffmom Sac Memorandum to Dr. F. ©. Allen: In regard to your remarks before the Tulsa alumni, I think it would be well, in general, to use any items which give the appearance of momentum in the University (during times when our enrollment is likely to be adversely affected). I suggest you might tell them of our new degree in aeronautical engineering; of the proposed secretarial training course; of the new curriculum in industrial design; of the fact that Fowler Shops are going 24 hours a day in giving National Defense training; that we are starting the Engineering Experiment Station laboratory, built out of McNown's dirt blocks; that we have broken ground for the Military Science building; that, under the bonding bill, we hope to start construction in the near future on an addition to the Union and on a new dormitory building; and you will know about the Mineral Industries building before you PB, Pato — Deane W.
