My dear Dr. Allen:

Most American colleges are undertaking
some plan of relief for Chinese students. We believe that
the faculty and students of this University will be glad
to express in a material way their sympathy for these fine
young people in a war-torn country.

We are inviting you to a preliminary meeting
in the Chancellor's Office on Saturday morning, March ll, at
10 o'clock to discuss the matter. I sincerely trust you may
find it possible to be present to assist in a decision as to
what the University public wishes to do in connection with
this important humanitarian project.
