Gentlemen:

In the Album of American History we would like to
show a picture illustrating the genesis of the game of basket-
ball. We do not know whether Dr. Naismith had any pictures of
the game as worked out in 1891, or, if he had such pictures,
whether they are in the custody of the University of Kansas.
But we assume that the University of Kansas is the place to
start looking for the picture which we need. Any help you can
give us will be appreciated.
