Dear Jacks

Your boss, Max Levand, just called me to tell me of your
illness. I am awfully sorry to learn about this, but am delighted at the
good news of your convalescence. We will be pulling for you, Jack, and
this little column that Max asked me to write for you is most graciously
done; that is, the spirit of the thing is good, but the product is apt
to be inferior.

I am leaving for Marysville, Canina to speak to the
Tenehers Association and will not get to do the article until Monday
morning, but did want to get this little note off to you, wishing you
good luck and speedy recovery.’
