Office of Director Douglas County Health nil Hk SS MS.M.D. : irector 3 City Hell Lowencs, Ka nsas May 17, 1944 Dr. F. C. Allen Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allens We are about to make an effort to find and do something about cases of Tuberculosis in this region. In a way you are now representing Rotary Club and I am asking you to assist in this case finding survey. How? When? What is it all about? This way: The Douglas County Medical Society, the Tuberculosis and Health Associa-# tion, The State Board of Health, the Kansas Medical Society, and the United States Public Health Service are working to-: gether in this effort. The thing itself is an attempt to X-Ray as many chests of Douglas County people as possible. The general plan is to have the X-Ray apparatus set up in the Lawrence Community Building and work there May 25 through June 1, except Sunday and Decoration Day. Then set up in Eudora for June 2, and in Baldwin City for June 5. Same details are that the hours offered will be 10:00 to 12:00, 1:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00, the time units will be quarter hours, so far as convenient, groups should have relatively _ definite appointments, we can do only about 25 in each 15 min- ute period so if your group has many more than that in it, you should ask for more than one period, For instance, if you are a service club group, a double period, say 7:50 to 8:00 in one of the evening sessions, might fit you. However, there will be time for all without very long waiting whether you have appointments or not, Please telephone # 462 (or write to the Health Unit) and give your lst, 2nd, and Srd choices for time appointments. y Very truly yours “Director - L.
