Aszman, President Lawrence Community Chest Lawrence, Kansas Dear Sir: On August 23, 1943, the Budget Committee of the Community Chest met at the Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of considering the applications for entry in the Community Chest for the year 1943-1944, After the con- sideration of the applications, the Budget Committee rec- ommends to the Board of Directors that the following organizations be included in the Community Chest budget for the amounts shown opposite their names: Boy Scouts $ 1,500,00 Joint Christian Council (Formerly Girl Reserves and Hi-Y) 275.00 Girl Scouts 700.00 K.U. Y.M.C.A. 950.00 K.U. Y.W.C.A. 900.00 Salvation Army 2,798.00 Social Service League 700.00 4-H Club 000,00 Total $ 8,123.00 The above total of $8,123.00 does not include the items of shrinkage, campaign costs, or administrative costs, and your committee suggests that these remain the same as last year which was $1,700.00 for all three items, being divided as follows: Shrinkage $600.00 Campaign Costs 500.00 Administrative Costs 600,00 Including all items listed above the total amount recommended is $9,848.00. It is also recomnended to the Board by the Budget Committee that since there will be approximately $1,900.00 left in the Chest Fund as a carry-over, that $900.00 be applied as a part of the amount it is recommended for the budget as set out above, and that $1,000.00 be left in reserve for future use, Respectfully submitted, Budget Committee: F.
