The fall of I1905,I was president of the student council amd Dr.Parmenter wags bhe Pac¥lfty advisor and we were meedimg 2 coach for what we thought was a better team than should be coached by the Gym inmstructer so Br.Parmenter and myself were instructed to find a coach,we first went to Haskell to see Ome of the boys there but he wasent to be found and some one suggested that we go to Kansas City amd get a fellow by mame of Franz who wag playing base ball with the Blues,so we went to Kansas vity amd located a lawyer brother of Franz amd he said his brother was visiting with another brother in Oklahoma — who Was Gov.at that time he also said that he dident think his brother was the man we wanted any Way amd he suggested that we g0 to Imdependence amd look up a young fellow by the name of vhog Allen who was playing with the Kansas City Aatheletie Club and if we could talk him into our plans he would be our best bet. ’e found you as I remember just before lumch in the grocery store and we went to lumch together 2nd had 4 good sterk amd put the proposition up to you smd you sgreed to come up to Raker two nights = week,that was the fall of '65 amd them in the fall of '0O6 you came up nd stayed 511 season.I payed under you durimge two seasons years of '05,'06 amd '06,'07 then T left sckool but thimk youn stayed amother year or so am not syre of how lomg.Amy way this is how it started in the fall of "O05.Naturaily I have 2lways followed your career with 2 food bit of interest possibly more so tham my one else sinse I was one of the two who z0ot you sterted.
