April &, 1942 ® Mr. Delmar Curry, Kansas High School Athletic Association, Nationel Reserve a Topeka, ‘ensas. Dear Delmar: I had the extreme pleasure of visiting with Vr. and Mrs. Bob Stone at the celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Rotary last Monday evening at the Eldridge Hotel, at which time the Honorable Stone re-delivered the charter that he delivered to the Lawrence club twenty-five years ago. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and i learned that Delmar Curry had married the granidaughter of these fine people. Congratulations, my boy? It is always interesting to find the connections and relationships when we commingle with our friends. We greatly enjoyed their presence with us and the Honoreble Stone did an excellent job as he always does when ho gets on his feet before the public. T am wondering if you would do me a favor. Bach year we have a little session on the morning of the Kansas Relays. I have been making it a point to invite the senior high sehool boys of outstanding merit to the University to work out with our varsity men. There is no organized prac-~- tice ~« we just invite these boys to shoot some goals, take a shower bath, and attend the Kansas Relays. We do not "high pressure” them, nor do we invite them to attend the University the following year. We tell them that this is just for a good time and a pleasant visitation, eo them to pick their own college where they des ire to go to school. I em wondering if you would be kind enough to send me a list of any boys in the different tournaments which Tommy picked in the different regions and sections as the outstanding performers. If you can give me the semiors 2 wet Seprersate it very much. With all good wishes for your continued success, I Sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education and Recreation PCA: AH ; Varsity Basketball and Baseball Coach.
