Physicel Training Department Maxwell FieldjAlabama September 41941 DroF.C,Allen Director of Physical Sducation Kansas University _ Dear Doctor Allen; Thank you very much for your encouraging Nibies Dansees is not here yet but I will show her your letter. She will chaseuk to read your compliment on her work in folk dancing. My work here is nic pleasant. We have a lerge group of instructors here sand they are a grand gang to be working with. These fellows are from all over the country and no two of them are from the same college. The Director of Physical Training tried to get a representative group here. All of our classes are held out doors which is one advantage of this climate. Calisthenics get more attention than any other type of activity.1t is more important thet the cadets get a thorough workout than that theflearn eny special skills.I notice thet Goal Hi.geems to be one of the popular activities with the cadets. Of the fellows 1 had last year,Hodges was the best Softball man,Bill Arnold was the best at Tumbling and Apparatus, endRay Niblo was good at most activities. These fellows are good leaders and are well liked by the rest of the Physical Education majors. I will keep in touch with you and let you oon in advance when I will be ready to come back to finish my degree “ishing you an other successful year,I remain, Respectfully Yours, C
