October 15, 1941 Mr. Lee Calhoun 900 Fidelity Building Kansas City, Mo. — . Thank you for your good letter of October 13. It was very nice of vm te pass on my letter to Parke Carroll. I'm to speak to-night at the William J. Bland Post at the University Club at 7 pem. along with Clyde MoBride and Parke Carroll. I'll be gled to take an opportunity to say a word to Parke if it so presents itself. I enjoyed the wonderful description that you gave of Doctor Nigro and some of the Notre Dame fellows. It was graphic. Regarding Milton, I've given him Roy's address and Iprefer that he write rather than that I do it. While I'd be glad to communicate with Roy as I have alweys been fond of him, I prefer to place the responsibility onto Milton, because I find that parents too often do too much for their children's benefit causing the children to expect the parent to paddle the canoe too far up the stream. I will follow this letter up with Milton and see that he writes Roy. Thank you so much for your good letter , and I want you to imow that any time you come to Lawrence it will be my turh to buy buttermilk and soup. I enjoyed my visit with you Aumanaely- With all good wishes I eam Sincerely, , Director of Physical Rindation and Recreation FCA/pg Varsity Basketball Coach
