. Dear Parke,

Thank you very much for your kind letter of the 16th instant
enclosing the tear-sheet from your sports pase. Lee Calhoun
also wrote me on the 16th sending me a copy of your columns
Lee is a very fine and personable young man. He stopped in
Lawrence about a week ago and had lunch with mee It was
during that tine that he read Brownie's statement and in the
conference I told him that I would send him a copy of my reply
= Brownie. es how it all started.

tt was good to see you neal have a visit with you, Parke, I |
enjoyed the evening very s was nice to be with my old
time friends, many of whom It “not had en opportunity to speak
