I was very glad to get your letter telling about basket-
ball plans for the year as well as the schedule. Am sure
we were all sorry to hear that Ralph Miller probably will
be unable to compete in athletics this year.

Dear Dr. Allen:

This summer has been a very enjoyable one for tie and
trust that it has for you too. June and July 1 worked most
of the time in KC. For five weeks I was privileged to
vacation in the very beautiful state of Washington but I
did also find a job to keep me busy one week while there.

I particularly enjoyed the cool weather and then Washington
has so many interesting things to see that I considered my
visit a real education in itself.

Before school was out last spring we were talking about
my working in the towel room again this year. as I under-
stood it I am to be an assistant to John Kline who will
have charge of the room. I hope this plan ean be worked
out as I am very desirous of working this year. I shall
be coming to Lawrence, Monday, September 16 for registration.
If it is agreeable with you I should like to see you then
and we could go over plans concerning the towel room for
the coming year.
