BELOIT HIGH SCHOOL ~~ BELOIT, KANSAS E. M. CHESTNUT, PRINCIPAL ““Home of the Trojans” September 26, 1940 Dr. F. C. Allen, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear friend, "Phog"., Enclosed is a check for mileage to Beloit last Friday. I'm sorry that I have delayed so long in sending it to you. I was very happy to have you here for the opening of the new stadium field. I was so busy and had so many things on my mind that I was unable to enjoy myself em anyone else. After hearing the comments of several I believe our dedication ceremonies wnat have been pleasing to almost all people. The WPA man spoke at consid-— erable length, but that organization had spent a lot of money on the project(and we might want some more!) The hoisting of the flag with the spot-lights playing upon it seemed to have had the desired effect. We would liked to have won the game. Coach Murry and the boys have been hard at work and hope to do differently with Minneapolis. Dean Lawson will bétwith us Thursday evening and Friday morning. Again, I want to thank you for coming to Beloit. Sincerely yours,
