BELOIT HIGH SCHOOL ~- BELOIT. KANSAS E. M. CHESTNUT, PRINCIPAL “Home of the Trojans” August 20, 1941 Mv. fF. C. Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Friend Dr. Allen: Just a short note to let you know that Lorraine's appli- cation in the Co-Op organization was accepted. We made a special trip to see Bob Fluker after returning from Lawrence, at which time he put in his application and he very quickly was notified that it had been accepted. Living at the Co-Op Club will be a great financial assis- tance to him and his parents. He has filed applicationsfor employment at the Student Enployment Office and with the NYA. I fear that his application for NYA assistance would most likely be rejected, for it might seem that he would not need the help as much as some others. The facts of the case are that he will need to work some. If there is any way that you might be able to help him or recommend him in securing employment it will be appreciated. His golf has been pretty good this summer as he has been able to tie the course record on two occasions, and he had rounds of 31 with par score being 36. You might well know that was too hot for the old man. The baseball season is drawing to a close and it will not be long until pig skins will be the order of the day to be followed shortly afterwards by rebounding basketballs. That means a lot of work for you. We start enrolling tomerrow morning. I hope you have another pleasant and profitable year at Kansas University. Sincerely yours, ES healing Mr. BE. M.
