TALON, we MEADVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA EXECUTIVE October 11, 1937 OFFICES Dr. Forrest C. Allen University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: I have been apprehensive for some weeks prior to the receipt of your letter of October 6 lest the unavoidable dragging out of this jacket matter might run into your basketball season. I had the thing all settled early in July, and I had come to a complete agreement and understanding with the attorney for the woman who is bringing suit. She didn't like the settlement he made and would not confirm it, discharged him and started all over again with a new attorney. Until very recently it apveared that it would be necessary to take depositions, and I have been waiting the determination of this fact to write to you, possibly with a view of making an appointment. However, in the last few days, it has appeared that perhaps a settlement will again be reached and that depositions will again be unnecessary. I should know this week. I am asking Lowe & Campbell to make you a duplicate of the suit you let me take with your suggested addition of the hip pocket with a Talon fastener. I hope they will get it to you promptly. You will recall that I borrowed several of the team's woolen sweaters, the fasteners on some of which need replacing. I am having these replacements made and will ship them to you promptly. I greatly appreciate your kindness and cooperation in this matter which is of course of no interest to you, and I am doing everything I can to avoid causing you the slightest inconvenience. I shall hope to write you again within a few days. Very truly yours, Ch ae T. L. Chisholm TLC:b Assistant Secretary
