Jack Buckman and his brother, Paul, were in Saturday.
I told him to enroll in school and we would find a way of taking
care of his needs. His brother Paul said that if he could get
a job he would help Jack and no other help from the Argentine
business men would be necessary. Now, in this connection, I would
suggest that you call Lewis H.Brotherton, Drexel 1717 office number,
Fairfax 5154 residence number. There is going to be an opening in
our janitor force on the 25th. Lewis told me that he had a man
for this job but may be if you call him he will consider Paul. I
would not say that I suggested it for the reason that I want you to
put it up to Lewis in a way that he would feel that he is doing it
himself for the school. You might just ask him if he could take

care of this job in some way as you know he has charge of employment
of a good many men,

Your letter speaks of $15.00. I understood over the phone
that if the men were willing to take care of this $15.00 it was that
much a month. It now is not clear as. to whether it is $15.00 a month

or just $15.00 total. I presented this to the Argentine men and
they are to let me know.

Jack's brother Paul is very enthusiastic over him going
to K.U. He told me that his family is much happier now since he
has made a decision to enroll in Kansas. Paul is about 25 years old.

Ted Kenny has great possibilities in an athletic way |
if he could be weaned away from his present associates. Jack wants
him to room with him and I am Sure thet if this arrangement can be
made, it will profit both boys for Ted is a very bright boy and
probably could help Jack with his work. Ted has means of help that
he could call upon if necessary. I understand that he has an uncle
in Texas who would be willing to help. His sister is one of our
teachers; however, I have never talked to her about Ted. She pro-
bably could be induced to help him if it was necessary.

This fellow Calovich is not much force and I
would not
spend any time upon him. The only reason I got him a job is baecies
