University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear voc: I have your letter of December 24th in regards to the arrangements for the between halves program at the Oklahoma game. I regret to say that our plans have slipped up in one detail and that is that Hal Surface has backed out on us. I eannot offer any explanation of his doing so and personally I do not appreciate his letting us down in this way at all. His only explanation is that he has not had enough practice, ali of which sounds rather ridiculous to me. It seems that the weather might be bad, and the roads might be bad, and in this it just wouldn't be a good idee for him to come down. The best that I can offer instead is for Al Burgess and possibly Bill Kiley and myseif to put on the show and then per- haps I can persuade Mr. Surface to appear at a later date in the full length match. I believe we can wrk out something entertaining but of course will be guided entirely by your wishes. If you do not feel that this would be such a good idea then feel perfectly free to call off the little show at this time and we will have a full length match later on. However Al Burgess and I and I know Bill Kiley will be only too willing to do what we can to fill in this interval and aasuming that you will want us to do so, we are coming over this Sunday morning to play in the auditorium if that is available and in th @ gym in case the former is not available. As you can probably tell from the tone of this letter it makes me good and mad for Hal to let us down in this way. Wouldn't it be rare to find someone who could get real good without acquiring all the temperamenssthat seems to go hand and hand with a reputation? DISTRIBUTORS FOR A. G.
