March 13, 1942. Mr. Gwinn Henry» Direocter of Athletics, University of Kansase Dear Mr. Henry ¢ Iam sending you a copy of the minutes of the Finance Committee which was approved by the Athletic Board, as follews: — "Phat baseball as a conference sport be discontinued this spring, but that we have a baseball team to play local teams, such as Baker and Rockhurst, and conference toais whenever possible to do so without much expense." From my conversation with you, I believe that you misinterpreted the motion. This leaves it open to play the Kansas Aggies and Missouri, according te the discussion while I was present at the Finance Committee meeting. ‘You will recall that you left the Finance Committee conference early to attend a meeting in Topeka that day. I did not hear from you.or anyone else further con- cerning the meeting, so took it that the baseball team was to play « schedule of games. Am I correct in assuming that when you wrote all Big Six teams that Kansas would not play any conference schedule that this was hardly in conformance with the notion? i : I have been corresponding with Don Faurot on the premise that we were to play a curtailed schedule. I will be glad ‘to have a conference with you at your early convenience. Very sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education and Recreation, Varsity Basketball and Baseball Coache
