Dear Coach Allen:
The greatest of poets once wrote

God gave us memory
That we might have roses in December...

You have given to me many of my
prettiest blossoms.. when as I youngster I attended
Normal No. 2 and lived at Whitman's across the street
or at Harry and Tot G:rrison's around the corner..we
all loved “rs. Allen, the children and Coach.. sure
we rebelled a bit when you told us we must quit that
popping of necks.. etc.. and other tricks the boys
told us they learned from watching you... They were
a serious matter to you but tricks, aye, parlor tricks

And then to meet you in the lobby of
the hotel in Kansas City.. $o watch you greet the
K, ¥, boys.. the same 'Phog" Allen who the classes of
Warrensburg love to have return and talk to them..
and to have you come to civelhe tickets for “rs. Lamkin
and I .. that was another lovely blossom.  —>-

I did watch the Kansas game and when No.
3 or was it No.4 came out I though 6f Boob Menz and
how you worked with him until he hit that basket from
every part of court.
