Dear Dr. Allens

It is with much pleasure that we at the U. S. Naval
Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois, send you this certificate
in appreciation of the part you played in making the 1941-42 Great
Lakes basketball season an outstanding success.

It was only through the efforts and cooperation of you and
other men in similar positions that the Great Lakes team was able to
carry out in so successful a manner the three objectives for which
it was organized, namely; to "carry the Navy home" to the people of
the middle-west, entertain and aid in the morale of the recruits at
the station and to raise funds for the Navy Relief Society.
