August 13, 1941. Mr. John T. Doyle, c/o Americen Sports Publishing Co., 19 Beekman Street, New York City, N.Y. Dear Mr. ‘Deyle: Doubtless you will receive a tear sheet from Clyde McBride's Sporting Comment as of yesterday, August 12th. But I clipped this out more as a memorandum so it would recall to my mind the necessity of writing you to congratulate you on the most outstanding work perhaps of any man in sports. I say this without fear of flattery or contradiction. Through the long years you have been a sportsman, a high grade gentleman, and an indefatigable worker. It must be a source of great pride and joy to a man when in his mature years he can look back over a wonderful record of accomplish~ ment and friends by the legion. It was perfectly fitting that Walter R. Okeson should give you the entire credit by saying “the only editor was John Tf. Doyle. « + « Hats off to John T. Doyle.“ | | ly sincerest wishes to you for many happy and durably joyous days. Sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education and Recreation, PCA: AH Varsity Basketball Coach.
