We have hopes that he will be able to cone beck to us after this fuss with Hitler is over. He has some definite ambitions in his desire to return to Kansas and we certainly will welcome him with open earns any tine he fs free to return. | It is nice of you to say the things that you have. But, I tell you that Burt was mekéng a real name for himself here and not only does he leave in good standing but he leaves e@ host of friends who are sayines "we certainly hope he will return; we need such men as DeGroot on this campus" I quite agree with you that this struggle with the forces of banditry will be a long one. If they get the bread basket of the Ukraine, it locks as though the —_ oBting will be for a long time. But, enough of that. No one can forsee the future. We're sorry, too, that we're not going to see the DeGroots. We had hoped you would come through and I'd hoped I would have more time to visit with you than I have had in the past.
