It was certainly kind of you to take time out from your busy
life to drop me a note on Burt. We are so happy to know that
you are pleased with him, and to learn, in addition, that he is
doing an acceptable piece of work for youe

Evidently you are keeping him busy, or else he is a loafer,
because I have had only two letters from him since he arrived

at Lawrence. Both, showever, exude enthusiasm for one, Fogg Allen,
as well as for Lawrence, and the University of Kansas. He seems
to be happier in his present location than in any job which he
has had since graduation from Stanford, some years ag06«e

I am flying east to scout Drake on the 24th, and am hoping that
4+ will be possible to stop over in Lawrence for at least a few
hours e
