American Sports Publishing Company VA TYMIPN STREET NEW YORK 19 Beekman Street June 20, 1939 My dear Dr Allen Thank you for your letter. It was nice to hear from yous. I+ has been some time since I heard from eur Lawrence friends and I trust everything is well with "you all! Mrs Doyle was taken very ill at the end of November-- just collapsed--but is considerably improved. She gets very tired, but we try to keep her "put? a rather hard task, as she wants to keep busy--and will to the end, I guess. My son is now in New York, selling for a well known lithograph firm. He made a seven-months tour of Europe last year, much of it on a wheel, from Sweden to the Balkans, and had an interesting time. The bicycle man of the Sun asked him to write something of his tour and for the last eight Saturdays they have been carrying instalments, In recent pictures of some Albanian towns he showed me houses in which he had been. He liked Sweden best of all and says he would like to’live there. The Germans, too, were most hospitable. It was interesting to him also to find people in the most remote places who had at some time or other lived in the States. Of course they were most pleased to see him. | I have noted what you wrote about Mr Kefith. Ossie had put your name on it, but I shall substitute the right : a author's. We shall send him a proof, as requested; in fact, | we seually do unless it is a last minute article. \ Well, again thank you, Dr Allen, and with my best for Mrs Allen, and.of course yourself-- .* . - ‘Paithfully yours ee
