Dear Dre Allen:

It was good to hear from you again and I can heartily agree with
you in regard to Elwyne I shall be only too glad to do what I can to
help him better himself.

However, my situation is similer to yours in that I am not so well
acquainted with the authorities at Yalee I am, however, getting a
letter off to Frank Kanaly this afternoon. He is the only one in the
Department there I know and I am not so well acquainted with hime Perhaps
Jimmy at Harvard could help us not only in recommending Elwyn but in give
ing us the names of the ones in authority to whom we might write. I shall
do everything I can from this ende

We are well and I manage to keep pretty busye My track prospects are
only fair but I do have a big squad of boys working and they seem willing
enoughe I am hopeful that some of them will develop into top-notch performers
before the season is overe Jean continues to grow end is now in Junior
High School, already beginning to tease her Daddy for party dressese An
old story to you but one for which I had not been prepared. We all send
