UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI : COLUMBIA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY February 3, 1938 Dr. Forrest c. Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Phogs Your delightful letter of January 24 was received along with the book of yours on Better Basketball. fFven though I am supposed to be planning lectures for next semester I have been reading about basketball. As you mentioned I did enjoy the article about the Nebraska game in 1920, but you left out one important part of it at least to me, and that was during the half for lack of excitement or whatever reason they gave at that time, I was the victim of the blanket tossing for the day. I finished my work at Washington -— University in St. Louis in 1926. After spending two years in surgical preparation I have been connected with the University of Missouri since that time. 2 I feel very honored to be called to give you any assistance possible when you bring your teams here to Missouri, and I always look forward to seeing you and all the men connected with the University of Kansas. I had a nice visit with Joh Wulf when he refereed the game with Missouri and Colorado. Again let me thank you for the delightful gift. Looking forward to seeing you on later visits either here or at Lawrence, I am “> Pty Sincerely,
