My dear Dr. Allen:

Awhile ago a student, whom I know very well and in whom I have
utter confidence, said that there were times when the instructars
in the gym classes are careless about calling the rolls, with
the result that a great many students absent themselves from
some of the work. Criticism was made specifically of some of
the women's classes last spring, when in the particular class
mentioned, there were large numbers of absences on Friday.

I pass this on to you for whatever it is worth. It may not

be a general thing, but in the circumstances, I have to believe
that a particular instructor in at least a particular class

was very careless last year about checking up on the Friday
attendance.
