October 16, 1942 Dear Fellow Faculty Member, last Friday I received this commmication from Dean Lawson: "Awhile age a student, whom I know very well and in whom I have utter confidence, said that there were times when the instructors in the gym classes are careless about calling the rolls, with the result that a great many students absent them- selves from some of the work. Criticism was made specifically of some of the women's classes last spring, when in the particu- lar class mentioned, there were large mumbers of absences on "I pass this on to you for whatever it is worth, It may not be a general thing, but in the circumstances, I have to believe that a particular instructor in at least a particuler class was very careless last year about checking up on the Friday attendance." | This letter is self-explenatory and I trust that our faculty will be careful in checking absences. - Sincerely, Director of Physical Education and Recreation Foa/pg Varsity Basketbell Coach
